If you are interested in submitting to this year's volume, please read our call for papers posted at http://www.yorku.ca/gradcdis/documents/callforpapers101004.pdf. We would find it most helpful if you shared our call for papers with your own contacts. This year's submission deadline is March 1st, 2011.
Critical Disability Discourse (CDD) is a bilingual, interdisciplinary journal, publishing articles that focus on experiences of disability. The journal’s review board consists in over thirty students and faculty members from York University, the University of Toronto, Laval University, McMaster University, and the University of Cambridge. This past year, we have been working tirelessly on our second issue, reviewing thirty articles submitted from across North America.
CDD was conceived by, and is managed entirely by, graduate students. Our objective is to create an academic space where graduate students might make valuable contributions to the field of Disability Studies. In an environment where we are pressured by the mandate to publish or perish, and yet are given very few opportunities to compete successfully for space in journals, this journal is meant to facilitate an academic community and to provide a more promising opportunity for people just beginning their careers.
Warm Regards,
